Healing Modalities:
Relaxation Massage--
Let the stress of the day melt away with this style of massage. Relax and allow your mind and body to be quiet for total nurturing. Feel the tension slip away as you experience a blissfully splendid session. Relaxation massage treatments involve firm but soft long soothing strokes, gentle kneading, skin rolling and light rocking in order to relieve stress, remove toxins, improve sleep, ease muscle tension, aid digestion, enhance circulation and promote healing. Relaxation massage treats the full body to reconnect, rejuvenate and restore balance to the system as a whole.
Chair Massage--
Chair massage is a short massage, anywhere from ten to thirty minutes. A client is fully clothed and no oils are used. The massage is performed in a specially designed portable chair. It typically focuses on key tension areas in the back, neck, head, shoulders and arms. On-site chair massage is popular at some offices as an employee benefit and for conferences, workshops, health fairs and social events.
Hot Stone Massage--
Nothing is more soothing during the cold winter months like hot stone massage. This type of massage is ideally suited for people who tend to feel chilly or who have cold feet. Smooth, flat stones are heated and used to massage the body, providing long lasting benefits due to deep-heat muscle penetration. The heat relaxes the muscles, allowing the therapist to work the muscles without using deep pressure. It is extremely beneficial for back pain, poor circulation, arthritis pain, stress and anxiety, insomnia and depression. Stones are placed on major energy centers as well as used as tools to massage the body that help balance and integrate the mind and body. Let the warm stones melt away tension and stress…
Prenatal/Postnatal Massage--
Pregnancy may be one of the best times in a woman’s life to receive bodywork, because it is not only beneficial to the mother, but to the baby as well. Regardless of individual circumstances, a pregnant woman's body is challenged, changed and stressed in many ways. Massage gives special attention to the mother-to-be, which in turn nurtures the new life that grows within her. This specialty massage is performed to meet the needs of mothers-to-be by creating a relaxing approach to relieve leg cramping, lower back pain, water retention and fatigue. Cushions, pillows, bolsters, special positioning and techniques are used to offer the most comfortable session for the mother-to-be. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the reduction of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, improved breathing and relaxation, and relief from uncomfortable digestive issues.
