Healing Modalities:

Craniosacral Therapy is gentle hands on pressure to various parts of the body with emphasis on the head (cranium) and lower end of the spine (sacrum). The therapist  facilitates the body’s self-correcting mechanism within the craniosacral system to release various restrictions within the body.  CranioSacral Therapy works by helping the body’s natural healing mechanisms dissipate the negative effects of stress on the central nervous system.  The amount of pressure used is typically 5 grams (weight of a nickel) to facilitate fascial release.  Each session is individualized to the needs of the patient, based upon the therapist’s assessment.

Among CST’s largest patient groups are those suffering chronic symptoms that haven’t been aided by other approaches. In particular, CST is beneficial to those with head, neck or back injuries.  Another area of principal effectiveness is with stress-related dysfunctions such as: insomnia, fatigue, headaches, poor digestion, anxiety, TMJ dysfunction, various sensory disorders, autism spectrum disorder, ear infections, depression, surgeries, arthritis, learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, edema and sinus infections are just a few examples. Craniosacral Therapy works to reverse the debilitating effects of stress by providing the conditions in which the nervous system can rest and rejuvenate.  In fact, it’s this capacity to reduce stress that’s leading an increasing number of people to include CST as part of their wellness routines.

Healing Touch is an energy-based approach to health with the goal of promoting healing on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. It is based on the belief that each person has a dynamic, subtle energy field in and around the body that can be influenced to promote health.  Using gentle touch and a variety of hand motions on and above the body, the practitioner facilitates the clearing and balancing of the energy field of an individual. This process allows the innate self-healing abilities of the body, mind and spirit to move the individual towards a state of overall well being.  The goal in Healing Touch is to restore harmony and balance in the energy system to help the person to self heal.
