In Vera’s words:

After losing my mother to ovarian cancer when I was 19 years old and my mother only 55, I became very curious about energy drainage, stress and burnout. After becoming a mother myself, I soon became aware of my own energy waning as I noticed the same care-taking patterns in myself that I had learned from both my mother and grandmother. I guess you could say I was heavily weighted as a “Martha” and paid little attention, if any to my “Mary”, (From the Bible story of the two sisters: Mary is the one who spent time at the feet of Jesus meditatively “being” while Martha was the one who prepared the meals and spent her time “doing”). Trying to undo that which ran generations deep, I sought out both counseling and spiritual direction for myself.  I also read every self-help and parenting book I could get my hands on!  Sensing a re-birth of energy within, I learned to foster, nurture and build upon it.

It was not long until I realized that this new energy I was fanning was creative and full of life. This creative life energy, as I like to call it, was connected to the Spirit of my life which contained the meaning I was seeking not just in the big things but also in the minute details of everyday life. Believing that this creative life energy is not just for the established and recognized artist but available to all who seek the Spirit in the mind, body connection, I help others listen to the creative unfolding of their own lives so they too can find meaning and authenticity for themselves.”

Healing Modalities:

Though trained as a Spiritual Director via the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius at Sacred Ground Center for Spirituality at the Carondelet Center in St. Paul, Vera is open to all faith traditions and not limited to any one way of being in presence.  Her purpose is to act as an unassuming, non-judgmental mirror-holder for you and your Spirit. In her work with you, she will affirm, acknowledge and support the creative unfolding of your life by listening objectively to what is happening both outwardly and inwardly in your life and reflecting back to you any links perceived between the pieces presented.  This approach provides you with the opportunity and space to step back and take a look for yourself, therefore, allowing you to make authentic choices for your life from a place of truth and freedom.

Testimonials:

"Your creative mind not only creates for yourself, but helps me and others reach the light inside of us.  Your valuing of me is an honor to me.”

Donna B., one-one-one and group participant

"You are appreciated for your gift of healing despite the distance and I was comforted by your spiritual strength and light."

Jordan C., on-line participant

"Your guidance was very helpful.  No matter how much I 'know' this stuff, getting myself to stop, sit and communicate within doesn't happen very often these days.  The connection with you made it very easy"

Kim M., on-line participant

"I am definitely a Marha-do, do, do!  I have a hard time just sitting, so this group has allowed me time to center myself and not just go to the next point I want to get to.  It gives me permission to slow down."

"This group helps me show my 'soft side' that I often hide."

Cindy N., group participant

"I always leave the group with a 'nugget' to chew on and then come back the following month to follow up on it."

"I really learned a lot from other women in the group."

"The group has given me different avenues for viewing the spirit of my life."

Laura B., group participant

"The group motivates me to observe my life more because I know I have someone to share it with."

Maureen B., group participant

"It's great to be with others, get out of my head and remember to let go."

Jenny P., group participant.

NEW CLASS:

CREATE YOUR OWN
PERSONAL MANDALA
For a More Creative, Meaningful
and Authentic Life!

No artistic skills necessary, just a willingness
to listen, share and play.

In this class, you will create your own mandala.
You will choose three or four symbols
to represent whatever it is that restores and
replenishes your personal energy.
This might be rest, relaxation, community,
family, friendship, or whatever is true for you.
You will be given time to contemplate
these symbols quietly, write them down,
and then draw them.
The whole process should take approximately 1 1/2 hours (one class
session).  You will take your mandala home with you.
You are encouraged to pin up your mandala where you can see it.
This is to remind you of what you
discovered about yourself by building the mandela.
